Hello, all!

I just joined this forum in order to download the maneuvering board program by aaronblood. I'm messing around with it now and it seems rather neat. I am interested in naval sims and sims in general, although it has been a long time since I've played one (aside from the tank sim Steel Beasts).

However, it just struck me that I might be a source of some interesting (if not useful) information. You see, my main hobby is celestial navigation. I have studied it for quite a few years now and feel confident that I could answer any general questions anyone might have on the subject. I know far less about piloting and coastal navigation, but am not entirely unfamiliar with them. I do own several sextants and have taken many sights with them. I'm pretty sure I know the exact location of my yard at this point.

I'm also interested in ciphers and therefore have decent knowledge about the Enigma machine, some U.S. machines and cipher systems in general.

Feel free to ask me anything about the aforementioned topics. I make no promises, but I'll do my best to provide accurate answers to the best of my ability. If I can't answer a question, I know of some excellent online resources where the answers can probably be found.

Cheers and "fair winds & following seas"!

Your views on celestial navigation and Enigma I am sure would be of interest on the TWOS thread where both are used in the game.

Welcome to Subsim Nathaniel B. Nice Introduction as well. That's pretty interesting regarding your knowledge of celestial navigation and cipher machines. I'm sure we'll be asking questions here and there. Likewise, we are here to answer questions if we can regarding simulations you may be interested in.

Enjoy your time here and welcome aboard.
