Default Mod question

I know this is one of the more obscure sims out there and it has its quaintness. However, I am wondering if any of the moders have attempted to try and add a save system to this or if it is beyond modding. SoF is certainly no Silent Hunter game, but I like it. My only real gripe is not being able to save.

Has anyone tried looking into this issue?

Default no known save feature modded

The only save feature I've come up with is to sink a few ships
and then I use the “Q + left mouse click” feature to move back to my home port and then end the game. It doesn't work when the enemy is nearby or I am submerged. Cheers.

That's not quite what I am looking for, but I appreciate the effort. I am referring to a full save feature. The idea is to not have to start over at home port.
