Default Australia in FS

This for our Australian comrades.

The Vista Australis Project is first and foremost a community project by Australian flight simulation enthusiasts for the benefit of our hobby in this wonderful country of ours. Founded by John Venema in 2005, the project has grown to include a great team of developers and testers who put hundreds upon hundreds of hours each into continuing to develop VOZ as it is today. The VOZ Project is now controlled by a committee elected from the ranks of the development team.

Cool. If you squint hard enough you'll actually see my office in one of the screenshots... http://voz-ai.org/files/images/ACT2k6.jpg

Wow that was very impressive. That floored me even more than UTX. My wife and I spent a month in Oz for our honeymoon. I will definitely be picking this up. Is there something similar for NZ too? I was very disappointed in FSX's rendering of NZ. I took off from Queenstown and the entire town wasn't even there.

Some payware and some freeware stuff here for New Zealand as well as other locations on 'the other side of the world':

http://www.redbarent.com/products.htm

All of this scenery is an improvement on the standard stuff, but it is by no means perfect. On their most current NZ scenery, Christchurch looked pretty accurate, as did lake Te Anau, but Auckland looked a bit sparse, it received a score of 75 (that's out of 100 BTW) in a review which appeared in PC Pilot's most recent edition. They do some NZ mountain scenery too, which is obviously a must if you are a glider pilot, since that is the absolute Mecca for glider pilots throughout the world, and for fans of those Lord of the Rings movies for that matter.
