Sunk 10 March, 1944 west of Ireland, in position 52.35N, 20.19W, by depth charges from a Canadian Sunderland aircraft (RCAF Sqdn. 422/U). 53 dead (all hands lost).


U-628 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 3 July, 1943 north-west of Cape Ortegal, Spain, in position 44.11N, 08.45W, by depth charges from a British B-24 Liberator aircraft (Sqdn. 224/J). 49 dead (all hands lost).


U-632 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 6 April, 1943 south-west of Iceland, in position 58.02N, 28.42W, by depth charges from a British B-24 Liberator aircraft (Sqdn. 86/R). 48 dead (all hands lost).


U-636 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 21 April, 1945 in the North Atlantic west of Ireland, in position 55.50N, 10.31W, by depth charges from the British frigates HMS Bazely, HMS Drury and HMS Bentinck. 42 dead (all hands lost).

Sunk 17 May, 1943 south-east of Iceland, in position 62.10N, 14.37W, by depth charges from a British Hudson aircraft (Sqdn. 269/J). 46 dead (all hands lost).


U-651 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 29 June, 1941 south of Iceland, in position 59.52N, 18.36W, by depth charges from the British destroyers HMS Malcolm and HMS Scimitar, the British corvettes HMS Arabis and HMS Violet and the British minesweeper HMS Speedwell. 45 survivors (No casualties).


U-652 (Type VIIC)

Badly damaged by depth charges from a British Swordfish aircraft and scuttled on 2 June, 1942 in the Mediterranean in the Gulf of Solum, in position 31.55N, 25.11E, by torpedoes from U-81. 46 survivors (No casualties).

Sank at 0030hrs on 4 May, 1943 in the North Atlantic west of Cape Finisterre, in position 43.32N, 13.20W, after a collision with U-439. 44 dead and 3 survivors.


U-660 (Type VIIC)

Scuttled on 12 Nov, 1942 in the Mediterranean near Oran, in position 36.07N, 01.00W, after damages by depth charges from the British corvettes HMS Lotus and HMS Starwort. 2 dead and 45 survivors.

Sunk 25 Aug, 1944 in the Bay of Biscay near La Rochelle, in position 46.00N, 01.30W, by a mine in the minefield Cinnamon. 45 dead (all hands lost).

U-668 (Type VIIC)

Surrendered at Narvik, Norway on 8 May, 1945. Transferred to Loch Eriboll, Scotland, for Operation Deadlight.

Sunk 18 July 1944, in the English Channel north of Guernsey, in position 50.03N, 02.30W, by depth charges from the British frigate HMS Balfour. 52 survivors (No casualties).

U-673 (Type VIIC)

Sank at 0115hrs on 24 Oct, 1944 in the North Sea, north of Stavanger, Norway, in position 59.20N, 05.53E, after running aground near Smaaskjär following a collision with U-382. Raised on 9 Nov, 1944 and moved to Stavanger. Surrendered to Norway. Broken up.

U-675 (Type VIIC)



Sunk 24 May, 1944 west of Alesund, in position 62.27N, 03.04E, by depth charges from a British Sunderland aircraft (Sqdn. 4/R). 51 dead (all hands lost).

Missing since 16 Sept, 1944 in the Norwegian Sea between Norway and Greenland, position unknown. There is no explanation for its loss. 54 dead (all hands lost).

U-705 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 3 Sept, 1942 in the Bay of Biscay west of Brest, France, in position 46.42N, 11.07W, by depth charges from a British Whitley aircraft (Sqdn. 77/P). 45 dead (all hands lost).

Surrendered at Kristiansand, Norway on 8 May, 1945. Transferred to Loch Ryan, Scotland. Used for tests by the British and broken up at Hayle in 1950.

U-713 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 24 Feb, 1944 in the Arctic north-west of Narvik, Norway, in position 69.27N, 04.53E, by depth charges from the British destroyer HMS Keppel. 50 dead (all hands lost).

U-714 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 14 March, 1945 in the North Sea near the Firth of Forth, in position 55.57N, 01.57W, by depth charges from the South African frigate HMSAS Natal and the British destroyer HMS Vivern. 50 dead (all hands lost).

U-719 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 26 June, 1944 in the North Atlantic north-west of Ireland, in position 55.33N, 11.02E, by depth charges from the British destroyer HMS Bulldog. 52 dead (all hands lost).

U-732 (Type VIIC)



Sunk 31 Oct, 1943, in the mid-Atlantic near Tangier, in position 35.54N, 05.52W, by depth charges from the British anti-submarine trawler HMS Imperialist and the British destroyer HMS Douglas. 31 dead and 18 survivors.

U-735 (Type VIIC)

Sunk at 1921hrs on 28 Dec, 1944 in Oslo Fjord near Horten, Norway in position 59.24N, 10.28E, during a British air raid (RAF A/C). 39 dead and 1 survivor

Sunk at 1830hrs on 6 March, 1944 in the North Atlantic, in position 52.01N, 22.37W, after being torpedoed by the British destroyer HMS Icarus, then after unsuccessful attempts at towing the boat to port, by depth charges from HMS Icarus, the Canadian frigate HMCS St. Catharines, the Canadian corvettes HMCS Fennel and HMCS Chilliwack, and Canadian destroyers HMCS Chaudiere and HMCS Gatineau, and the British corvette HMS Kenilworth Castle. 12 dead and 40 survivors.

U-749 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 4 April, 1945 at Germaniawerft dockyard 4 in Kiel, by US bombs. 2 dead, unknown number of survivors.
