Default reinstalling

I am downloading a fresh copy from Uplay, is there a way to stop uplay putting any of my old files in SH5 folder as in the past I have found things that I have installed ie mods JSGME etc.

Hi Ts
If you are contemplating a complete re-installation then you need to first uninstall your game correctly from the control Panels program and features.
This would also include your save games folder.
The game launcher you do not need to uninstall as this is a separate application.
Run a registry cleaner and reboot your system before re-installing.

Uplay will only install the game there.
Any other files and applications will remain unless you delete them.

Code:
I have found things that I have installed ie mods JSGME etc.
This is not possible unless you have done it yourself.
Deleting the Silent Hunter 5 folder will completely remove everything that was left after the game uninstall.

JSGME is a separate application that you install independently.
Uplay only AFAIK only installs the stock game that needs to be updated to v1.2 after downloading.

Mods are ones personal choice that are put into the Mods folder with the exception of mega mods like TWOS that do it for you as part of the mod installation.

Yes Peter it is the TWoS mod that I am trying to install and that puts itself into the game.
I will delete all files that I can find to do with SH and try again, this was one of the reasons why I stopped playing.

Hi Ts
TWOS will automatically do a number of automatic installations into your main game folder.
You can see from the desktop shortcuts what is being installed.
Make sure you follow the TWOS installation instructions correctly remembering to update your game after downloading your game.

Take the time to set up the Generic Patcher.
Make sure you point each patch to the SH5 main game folder without opening it.
It takes 43 prompts to install all 9 patches.
