Hi Looney,
what i do is go to torpedo settings, push the button, set the speed to e.g. 8 knots, and then again push the button. It can now not be changed with the mouse. Then i set all tubes to 1 meter, impact etc,, open the tubes, and finally make the check through UZO/periscope, adjusting range and AOB. I take it that now those speed settings should remain as i set it (=8 knots), as long as i do not request anyt automatic speed guess at the notepad again - what i did not do. Well, i will continue to try, maybe i'll find out ... or not Thanks, and a happy weekend Catfish |

yups should be good. After setting the range and aob (and speed ofcourse) check the gyro angle in the attackscope screen. When it's way off (in your excample it should be roughly 0 when you look at 350). Then you may fire. If the gyro angle is 270 you know something is wrong.. double check the aob cause that is what has most impact. Compared to range

Hello,
seems Interpol in post #3 was right: "Only problem you might fight with it is that sometimes it will say it "cannot compute speed". The only way i have found to get it working is to go back and click the Angel of Bow but do not adjust the the AoB just press the tick again and do the same for range, Then try the Speed again and it should set it for you." Clicking on the AOB notepad without adjusting it, and going back to speed does not only enter a more reasonable number of assumed knots, but also the torpedoes don't get off to the sides, but more straight - or better: As they should, regardless of angle. When i miss now, it is only a few meters, so this may be correct due to my crappy speed evaluations lol. Now that i mastered this it seems i'm in for a treat with the "Kriegsmarine" KuiB mod, and have to learn it all again lol. I was quite good in using the OLCEGui back then with SH3, and it seems they have brought this over to SH4, and U-boat missions. Thanks for your help! and greetings, Catfish |
