Default Question about the WoS campagin

Hello there!

I've been playing SH5 in cykels ever since realease, and now it's that time of the year again to boot it up . I've installed WoS witout any hazzel (so wasy compared to finding 100 mods and combining them, super thanks for that effort!).

I notice that there is very short time span on many of the early missions (like braking the fortress). Do i have to actually end a patrol and then request that mission, or can i just go refit in base (without ending the patrol) and head out again?

Hi,

Even if you didn’t select Breaking the Fortress in the bunker, you can go for it as far as it is visible up left nav map (where we see our missions) meaning if you didn’t pass the end date

Good luck and watch out for mines! They are there...

Good to know! Is there really anything other than repairs and upgrades that makes "end patrull" better than just a refit?

Thank you for your help!

I think yes...you can ask new patrol zones in bunker, wich gives you more points if accomplished

But i don’t remember how many days you are loosing while in bunker ... it might be even randomized...
So be careful to do not miss the end date for the Fortress!

Hello fellow captain
I tried to go out without selecting a mission do to date not passed in the bunker to select Breaking the Fortress but when I was on the way out it was on the map. I when't through the minefields, subnets and the sunken ships and blew both capital ships out of the water and got the tonnage, but when I returned to bass the mission was still listed as on-going and I can still select it... is this a problem.

Also there is no description of the mission.

best regards
Capt. Noob von Rookie

The mission does not finish because you blew up the capital ships, all missions have a start date and a finish date.
This quite simply means you cannot dock your boat before the start of a mission and request it as it will not be there for you to see on your nav map.
All missions will disappear from your nav map at midnight on the last day of the mission and will only then show as completed.
It is not essential to request any mission the advantages of doing so is the promotion points gained by completing the ordered objectives.
In the case of your Breaking the Fortress even though you did not request this mission you still gained promotion points for completing the objective of sinking 1 capital ship.

The longer you stay at sea, the harder is keeping up crew's morale. That's a good reason for ending your patrols in bunker and giving your men some leave once in 4, 5 or 6 weeks, unless there is some mission you just want to accomplish, and you are short on time, in which case you can make a exception and just refit at the nearest port before keeping on your patrol.

IIRC, there is an upper and lower day limit that the game randomizes between, but we have a little utility called "change days in bunker" for adjusting those limits according to our needs.
