Default SUBSIM forums feature request thread

(I hope this is the right place for this)

So, how about we users list some features we'd like to see implemented to our forums?

I'll start with automatic image resize plugin.

This plugin would automatically resize an image to a size set by the admin.
For example, 1920x1080 could be made to scale down to 1280x720.
If user clicks the image, it then either opens the original image in a new window or scales it up to the original size on the post.

Why?

This would make sure there are no huge images that force users to scroll sideways to see the entire image.
It would also make it easier to post images as one does not have to necessary resize the image as the forum plugin will do it for you.

Fire away!

Costs would remain the same.

If I upload image to imgur and post it here, it will use imgur's bandwidth.
What the plugin does it merely limits the size of the image shown, forcibly downscaling it, yet the image will still be hosted at and using imgur's bandwidth.

This plugin is used on a number of boards these days and it is really useful in keeping the threads tidy (no oversized images) and just offering easier posting of images to users (no need to resize images pre-upload).

All for auto-resize.
I'd like strike-through text feature. Great to spice up texts.

I'll look and see if anything like this is out there.

Thank you. There should be one, I've seen it used on Vbulletin boards.

And I have set one up on ProBoards forum (which tends to steal from Vbulletin).

Let's make this a team effort, you find the hack, I will examine, install, and test.

I'd love to help, but as I said, I've done it only to a proboards forum which differs some from Vbulletin.

If Vbulletin's got a forum with a plugin/addon section, I'd check there first.

EDIT: See, there you go, it works!

EDIT 2 TEST:

Still stretches the format though.
