Default camera help needed

hey guys...wondering if there is a mod or a way I can make a mod to allow the free camera (F11) to be locked to the sub like using the fixed follow view (.) ? In other words I want to be able to set up a view that I can only get with the free camera but not have the sub just keep sailing away..i want it to stay put where i aim it. also, i saw a mod that would allow me to walk around on the bridge and surface of the deck when surfaced.....Id LOVE to be able to do this on my Ohio Class. however the guy put the download on his site about 11 years ago and the site is no more. Any Ideas?

ETR3(SS) and jhapprich are two "modern" sub modders. Search on one of their names by clicking on the "Downloads" link on the menu bar above, then on "Search" under the "Navigation" menu on that page, and you should get several hits. Both are still active on here. I've not kept up with the mods, but there are several mods, but some are for v1.4 of SH4, so you might be better off waiting for one or the other to post, or find their "Release" thread and ask there, as to which is appropriate for v1.5 of the game.

As for the camera, have you tried using the period <.> and comma <,> keys yet? That gets you the Next and Previous units on the external camera. If there isn't another vessel close by, it will show your boat, whether surfaced or submerged, from a little ways out and slightly above. Move the mouse around, and it rotates and you can zoom with the arrow keys (and mouse wheel??). The "camera" moves around a bit too fast, and doesn't allow you to zoom in too close, but you might find it useful...

Yeah tried the . And , keys
...works for external but for example if i wanted a view up close behind the sail looking forward you cant do that nor even get in that close unless you use the free camera which just lets the sub keep going away... basically what im trying to do is get the free camera (f11) to allow me to set a custom view but have it fixed to the submarine instead of a point in space that just watches the sub go by

I've not seen a mod like that, but maybe someone else knows. Another option would one of the "mega" mods, like Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate, where CapnScurvy has gotten the bridge view camera to where you can get "off-deck" with the view. I can't remember for certain (I'm not near the game right now, just checking email while I'm supposed to be painting - shhh!), but I don't think it "remembers" its position when you change views... I also can't remember if TMO had that...
