Silent Hunter 4 Water

Hello peeps,

Is there any way to extend the wave effect out to the horizon in SH4 (lets say it is 14kn winds) as currently the waves generated look (from conning tower) to only be out to about 100m from your boat then you see a line above these close waves on to the horizon of dead flat water with flat white lines pretending to be sea foam. Its a real set back from the extended water environment around you in SH3 and SH5. Both of these games you can see waves out to the horizon line as in real life.

Any environment modders out there with any comments? Can this be fixed is or is it a hard coded error?

I've been asking about this for years. The limited distance that waves are rendered really bugs the hell out of me. I don't need them rendered out to the horizon, but certainly something better than the perpetually flat seas half a kilometer out state that we have now.

Figured it would be something relatively simple like increasing an LOD coefficient somewhere in one of the many config files, as is so commonly the case with many other 3D sims of the period. Apparently, that is not the case.

Old problem, hardcoded so hope for fix is zero :/
