Default Hello

Hello everyone,

I am new to the genre, making my first paddle underwater with Silent Hunter V.
I have discovered the website and its community through the search for mods (out of curiosity, I am an entire newbie for now and will wait before touching and modifying the gameplay in depth (no pun intended, well, at first)).

Thank you for having me around.
More of a reader and a curious mind than a deep talker, I will watch around and try to immerse (sic) myself in this new adventure of a game.

Thank you all and have a good day.

Welcome Aboard!

When you're ready for mods I highly recommend the Wolves of Steel mod. It fixes most everything wrong with SH5 out of the box, and is extremely stable. The only crash I have had since installing it was my own fault.

Yes, I have looked at it a bit and I must say it looks really impressive.
I am not too worried about stability or installation, as I am used to mods on other games such as Arma or Il-2 (1946 and a bit of Cliff od Dover)

Rather, I am wondering if it would not change too drastically the gameplay and make it way harder to learn than it already is (to the total newbie in the subsim genre that I am, that is. It took me quite a long time to be able to ride the steep learning curve of the Il-2 for exemple).

But if it can be set in a customizable fashion (kind of like starting with all the depth added and litle by litle adding layers of complexity as I master each element progressively) I would definitly go for it.

In any case, thanj you for the kind reply.
