Update: I'm finding that 4runners with the good old 3.4L V6 fill the bill too

Any BMW E21 (any), E30 (any) or E36 (M3) owners here? I'm thinking about a project and would like some real world input.
Seems a lot of info I'm seeing online is several years old at this point. Over the next year or so, I want to piece together an S50B30US swap into an E30 chassis. If on the off chance any of you know anything about the swap, I'd appreciate it.

Thinking about a Xantia station, ever since the CX times i have come to despise steel sprung automobiles. Despite this italian Bertone design it does not look like much, but it is practical, has a perfect suspension system with indirect rear steering, and is a real underrated 'sleeper' with its 3l engine, 190 hp and 140 mph.
Fuel 'efficiency', well ..

It's getting difficult to find some of these old cars without rust. It's a pain to fix it, but people selling them without rust want a lot of cash.

We saw one of these yesterday parked at the local convenience store, except the roof & trunk were maroon. Beautiful thing.

I've never seen abandoned vehicles in Europe.

You mean to say there are people in Europe who would admit owning something like that?

The road next to mind has abandoned van now 10 years strong and I see a car has now been abandoned next to it. Residents in that road clearly don't give a toss or they would have reported them.

But you voted yourselves out of Europe so that example doesnt count. Schroeders observation stands.

I've got one of these. 2004 Ford Falcon BA XR6 Mk1. Mightn't be a dream car to some, but for me it's the best thing I've ever owned or driven. I've been driving for over 45 years and owned many cars including an E Type Jag. But the old "Henry" still turns heads after 14 years. It's a dream to drive, especially on a highway where you can really appreciate it's power. They don't make 'em any more here in Australia . Our Motor industry shut recently ( my take ) - "cause the current population mix in Australia would rather buy imported 4WDs than the locally manufactured sedans." Tragedy.

Tragedy indeed. One thing I love about Australians is they really do understand road racing. I'd rather watch super car events over any crappy NASCAR oval track garbage any day. I've been driving on the old Tasmanian '67 Longbridge course in Asetto Corsa lately with the Ferrari 250 GTO. Brilliant! It looks like California where I live to a very high degree and I feel like I'm driving local back roads.
