Thanks Longam, but I already went through that several times. Goes in great detail on positioning, but does not cover even half of the possible attributes you can set. I can get stuff to show up where I need it, it's just not behaving like I want.

Edition for stock game v1.4 is up for grabs.
Thanks to Ancient for providing an unmodded .ini. Link is in the first post shortly, and here.

I've tested the yellow and green ones. In my opinion, they are equally efficient when it comes to night use.
I just have one question. What's with the blockiness around the edges? Is it due to image compression? Last edited by Kaye T. Bai; 03-02-09 at 07:51 AM. |

Woops, missed that question.
What do you mean "blockiness"? The file is the same as the original, just with some colour where it used to be completely clear. I'm not sure what you mean?

Hi Arclight,
I love the mod! The yellow works great for me during both day and night. One question though. I downloaded the 1.5 version for RFB. All is good except I noticed that the newer version includes an Orange filter for the U Boats. Problem is, I don't have (can't find?) the Orange filter file. The D/L only included the Fleet Boat files. What am I missing? Thanks. |

Weird.
2 things you can check:
U-boats: (SH4 install folder)\Data\Menu\Skins\German\Gui\Layout\ Simply put, there should be 2 folders in Data\Menu\Skins\, namely an "American" and a "German" folder. If either the version is not 1.2, or the German folder is somehow missing, I suggest re-download. If everything seems in order, I'd suggest disabling all mods and re-enabling. Could also be a problem with another mod. Any mod changing something about the scopes is likely to interfere. Maybe if you provide a list of your mods, I can make a special tailored version.

Thanks for the response Arclight. Still no go. I redownloaded the appropriate file for RFB from the main page of this thread, and saved it to a D/L folder I created for all my mods I D/L. When I opened up the zipped file, the only folders inside were for green, red, and yellow. No orange that I saw.

Orange filter is included with each version.
Like I described above, you should be able to find it in the folder structure; First there's the zip itself: OPCFv1.2_RFBv1.52.zip Open that up and you find the folders for the three versions: OPCFv1.2_green_RFBv1.52 OPCFv1.2_red_RFBv1.52 OPCFv1.2_yellow_RFBv1.52 In those you will see identical stuctures: Data\Menu\Skins\American OR German\Gui\Layout\(modded file) When you get in the "Skins" folder, there should be 2 folders. One for US and one for German. Follow either down further to get to the modded file. Note how the stucture splits at the "skins" directory and continues on through both the "American" and "German" directories. If you install any color version, the German one is included with it. Best test would be to fire up the game and have a look through the German scopes. Attack scope should be completely clear, obscope should have a slight orange tint. Hope that clears it up.

That explaines it! I didn't know the German folder was included in each. As a matter of fact, I never even tried the U Boat scope. I just assumed there should've been a seperate Orange folder Thanks for clearing it up.

Mod hosted on SUBSIM
The files are now hosted right here on SUBSIM as well. The download is a pack, containing all versions released so far. Total size is about 13.5MB, so it's a bit chunkier then the individual downloads. The system only allows 1 file per entry, so instead of cluttering the list with 8 separate "mods", I just packed it all together with a readme. 13.5MB still isn't too bad, right?
You can find it here. I'll make some changes on the first post as well. When FileFront goes down end of the month, the original links will go down and be removed, so if you're "suffering" from a slow connection, grab the smaller individual downloads from FF while you still can.

Apparently FileFront has been re-acquired by it's original founders, meaning it won't be closing after all. All links on the first post check out.
So; versions for specific mod setups remain available through FF, while a pack containing all versions is available right here at SUBSIM.

well now i'm wondering if the IJN had a similar design or if their scopes were just more luminous ?
In any case, I'd like to try your german scope filter. I would also like to know if you could either let me use it for the IJN campaign or make a custom one for us (knowing it's based on the uboot addon) thanks keltos |
