Default Engine sound when engines stopped

I was stopped by a harbour just waiting in case any action from in or outgoing ships appeared but the engine sounds was driving me nuts, I thought it was going to be quiet so I could hear any movements.

Not sure it sounds just the same as when I'm traveling.

I assume you are on the surface?

If you are in a fleetboat, that is one that has diesel-electric propulsion, it is always idling, and will in fact, consume fuel, even when you are stopped. Below the surface, like if you are resting on the bottom, you should be quiet.

However, you should be aware that you are not likely to see any outgoing convoys, and maybe not very many incoming ones, if you are lurking at the entrance to a harbor.

Go to this page. Scroll down and you'll find different engine sound mods. I have "roaring diesels."

I'm not on the PC with SH so I will check the sound files later thank you.

I was submerged with engines stopped but had what sounded like they were still running as though I was moving.
As you say lurking around the harbour entrance produced nothing so I moved on.
