I wish I could get locked onto an airplane. I do those shots by going into free camera mode and pausing the game, then moving the camera to where the plane is. I'm not sure if the camera file in stock ROW lets you move while the game is paused or if it's something I picked up somewhere else.


BTW All the screenshots I took were on a cloudy day, so the ocean doesn't look as blue as it does "on a clear day, I can see foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever", oops, sorry, I slipped into "theatrical mode" for a moment there. I've got some clear and foul weather shots coming up that show off the blue and Krillers re-blue (yes, I said re-blue :rotfl: ) of JakeToox's sea foam.

Default Foo the only thing that actualy changed was the Particles file

hey there Leo,

Short question.. I have a slightly modified scene.dat.
Does the smoke fix have anything to do with the scene.dat ?
Or is it included in an other file in that mod.

I use the light version..


Just the particles file to fix the smoke effect's problem but I had to keep it the same way as the original download so no one had any problems that is all.

Default Kriller2 just a new particles file for the smoke effect's fix

I just wanted to match the set up of the VS_1 down load so no one would have a problem with swaping out the files that is all. I know you needed the scene file to stay the same for your work so I didn't touch anything in there.

How much of Kriller2's work is in ROW? Any? I was wondering which of his mods would conflict with ROW.

In the campaign layers it is a pain in the BUTT. I have it in my game but there are 2 perameter's that have to be met for the lightning to work. Number 1 clouds have to be in stage 2 which is full Overcast and second there has to be percipitaion. If no rain then the game simulates sounds like the storm is off in the distance but no lightning.

Again I had to start a new campaign and delete the SHIV save game file and let a new one be built once I started the game up again.

This is what I did in order. Deleted the save game folder / used JSGME and added the mod work to the game / Started up SHIV and then it builds a new game save folder in My Documents / then started a new carrier or campaign what ever you want to say. Ever since then the lightning worked in my game with no problems.

But several people have done this and only a hand full it actualy worked for. This is the big mystery I am at a lost in finding what the common denominator between their games and mine.

So until I figure it out or someone else does I do not sugest doing this unless you don;t care about starting all over again.

That pic was taken while in the single mission. I haven't encountered a storm yet while in career mode, so I don't know if it is or not.

Just for clarity, did you delete the entire SH4 folder in 'my documents', or just the save FILE inside it?


I'm okay with starting over. Give me lightning.

You don't think it's an ATI issue like glare, do you?

Some where in that folder there is a type of cache for the game that carries over into all saves and restarts from orginal game set up. When you finaly start the game again it will build a brand new save file all by it's self. There is a slight chance it could be card releated but the info I have gotten from people show both ATI and Nvidia card's some have it and some do not. Again no common denominator and that makes it harder to track it down. I am sure if I could HEX read it would be easier for me but seeing I either have to rely on others for that or need tool that do it for me it is slow figuring it out. I have a feeling there is something in either the shaders folder or in the base files for the game that are making the difference.

If you are going that route, open the SH4 folder in My Documents. Delete savedgame folder and richsavedgame folder. Fire up the game and start the new career.

UNTIL the Particles and Materials files have been added to the game first from ROW Special Effect's. Those have to be read by the game first when it builds the new SHIV save file once it is started.

Does anyone know if there's any single mission that always puts you in a storm condition? Or is that always randomized?
