What was the reason for German forces being specifically requested?

No military ones, that one is certain, the German military does not have the format and stamina for that and would hopelessly depend on the Russians palying friendly with us. It also makes little sense to single out one nation from the NATO bloc. - Probably because Germany still is the loudest propagator of EUnification, and Kiev since long wants to join the bloc. But right now, in its current inner state with cirminal gangs and corrupt oligarchic structures forming the controlling structzres, the EU would be insane to let the Uklraine in (dman, I hope I did not just mention the one reason why they will let it in...). And to let it join NATO would be something the Kremlin will react to, no doubt. The Americnas need Russia still to cooperate on a series of things of global relevancy that are indeed of greater interest toi them and to us, than the Ukraine. Sorry, but thats how it is. The Ukraine is not important enough and big enough to play at the centre of the Big Game. Smaller countries thus must play smaller roles.
