I just placed an order. You can pay with Visa, among other creditcards and Paypal. On the Etsy product page at the bottom right you can change your country/language and currency. If you put an article in you shoppingbasket you can also check the shipping rate.

Are you still going ahead with a combined RAOBF and Attack Ring for Etsy? I'd buy!

Hi. The products on Etsy look really impressive. I saw on your youtube channel (I think) there's short videos of them, around 20 to 30 seconds per video. I'd be interested in seeing slightly longer videos, perhaps 5 minutes or so, showing what you can do with them if possible please?

I've wondered what all the pins on the RAOBF disc are for, but seeing the attack disc in action would be interesting as well.

Great work, thanks.

Great thanks for that. I probably wouldn't be ordering anything for a few weeks so whenever is convenient for you, but I'd seen you mention possible tutorials before, so I wanted to upvote the idea

@Tbaac: The vertical line at the top (90 degrees), is the place where you set the observed mast height when looking with high power zoom. The lower one, at 14.5 degrees, is for observed height at low power zoom. Then you can read the range on the outside scale of the middle moving disk, opposite to the target'srecognition manual mast-height.

The line of pins in between is to read the speed in knots, after the time of passage through periscope/UZO line is aligned to ships length. (length is outermost scale, time in seconds is on adjacent scale.) You have to be stopped to use it, OR only moving forward or backwards.

Thanks Pisces. I might need to read it a few more times to fully get that though I think

I found this post, I think maybe that's explaining the same thing that you were above Pisces:
RAOBF Cheat Sheet in subsim forum
and that although this is in SH5, the principle is about the same?

So, a RAOBF is for calculating Range and AOB.

Is the item on this thread (Absolute/Relative/AOB Dial) the same thing as an Attack Disc or are they different? Looking at the first item in Solution Solver 2.3, that looks similar to the Absolute/Relative/AOB Dial.

How's it used please?

(Sorry for the daft questions, thanks)

edit: Actually, I see Gutted has put a video up on this thread so maybe that'll help explain it a bit http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=240575
Thanks though, I like the idea of the wooden discs.

Well, it is called the "Range and Angle On Bow Finder" for a reason.

The cheat sheet is exactly how it should be used. It's use in the Silenthunter games predates SH5 by years.
But it doesn't seem to explain the other red marks lower on the angle scale. But I just did.
