Default How to save Game in a patrol area?

Hi all

In TWOS, I’ve readen somewhere we cannot save manualy into a patrol area unless we must leave the area and come back again …

Is there any way to turn around ?
Maybe auto save? If so how to enable auto save?

Thanks for reply

Hi Fifi
What you are referring to is entering a patrol area objective which has a radius and a time attached to it either 24 or 48 hours.
You will already know your first objective as it can be seen in the Captains Log when your game starts the mission in the bunker
At some point nearing your patrol area you will receive a radio message telling you the area size you can patrol within and how long you have to stay there.
During this time you cannot make a game save until you complete the objective.
If for some reason you make a game save then you will need to re-enter the patrol area again to re-set the patrol time.
Although automatic game saves occur every 25 minutes you cannot use these as you would be stopping and starting at a different time.
To sum up patrol objectives have to be completed in 1 gaming session.

Ah ok …
It’s only for timed patrols, so normal ones are safe to save.
That’s good to know, thanks a lot

Other related question:

quote: "Do not make a save prior to attacking.
Manual saves should not be made within 60km of any coast line, attacker, or destroyed marks."

Is it still true/up to date?

I've made successful saves and had no problems, even when submerged. I don't think its' an issue now

Hi Fifi
TWOS is almost unbreakable AFAIK.
Vecko through the kitchen sink at his mega mod and it stood up to everything.
It is remarkable that something this complex put together with a lot of care and attention over a long period of time is 100%

I am sure Fifi you remember the old days and I have studied your mod lists in great detail along with many others at the time trying to work out which mods might works, which might not be compatible, what order to put them in, spending more time trying to fix the game than playing it. Thank goodness those days are now long gone thanks to TWOS.

Hi Theberbster
Yes, i remember well those days… it was painfull but also interesting to try to make it work! Good old days!
At least you guys finaly released the game as it should have been on the day one. Hat’s off!
The Wolves of Steel is truly a great simulation now!

Édit: is the great team working still over here ? (Gap, Volodya, TDW ect)

Hi Fifi
AFAIK only GAP makes an appearance now and again.
GAP has made some useful contributions to TWOS over the years.
Like most modding teams 3-4-5 age, commitments, health issues play a much bigger role as you get older.
