Mod to bring back vanilla SH 3 music in GWX 3 mod

GWX seems to remove the vanilla music, which is one of the things that I can't imagine Silent Hunter 3 being without! How can I bring it back? It's still there in the files.

Hi Andreson! You need to open your music folder found here: \SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Music. Change the music.txt file I have attached to music.cfg and place it in the music folder when back in port. Naturally it will ask you if you want to replace it, so copy the one in there to someplace on your computer. If you wish to make it JSGME ready, you can either make some new folders yourself or I can email you one that's ready to go. You would then unzip it, place in your MODS folder and install it when back in port.

Thank you!
Now only to find a way to get the vanilla main menu music. But that's another story.

Many Thanks!

Glad I could help Andreson. I've never attempted to revert the main menu music back to the original, but I'm certain it can be done. When I want to compare two text files, like the .cfg files, to ultimately alter one or the other, I use ExamDiff or WinMerge. Both free, either works quite well.

Thanks for the tip.
It seems that GWX is an awesome mode, although could use some options regarding the things you want changed.

But it's amazing otherwise

Just added the GW3 mod, with some hassle.
Not pleased the awesome music is gone without the ability to switch on or off.
Now all i hear is seaguls, paper shuffling and grunts.
Sad i may have to go back to vanilla for this.
