Default Need help guys

I asked this before but the reply is lost amongst the hundreds of replies over the various posts.

I get no text when I try the 'Project ZeeWolf' option in-game,followed by a crash which doesn't show an error message.

This is what I have....

Clean TvT install,followed by...
ZW_MO_T34vTiger_Pre_Kursk_Alpha_v1,followed by...
ZW_MO_Kursk_Mission_1_Pre-Alpha_v6.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Chucky give me some time to investigate, meanwhile re-install Kursk v5
and see if there is a deference.

ON the Job!

Hi Chucky

This won't be a response to your exact problem but I hope it at least gives you some confidence the problem is fixable/re-treadable.

Note: The very first Kursk mission release did the same thing to me!

Question is are you 100% certain you have the Kursk Pre Alpha mission1 version 6 and not the first??.

I only say this as we have a lot of releases and its easy to "drag and drop" a file when the title is abbreviated and you can't sometimes see the whole thing unless you look at properties. I nearly installed the wrong release once - two folders side by side and I grabbed the wrong one!!
I checked before unpacking etc and it was obvious.

Probably not an issue for you as I am a Dork and sometimes behave Dorkily.

If not maybe once more start from scratch again!!??? rebooting each time. I resolved a graphics problem (came from nowhere) by reintalling everything again. Now I move the whole content of each "upgrade" to an entirely different folder (i.e. I have basic TvsT, then the TvsT plus Pre Kursk Av.1 and finally TvsT plus Pre-KurskAv.1 and KurkPreAv.6). All tested as I add the releases. Any problems can be resolved by nuking the 'naughty' file and copying the contents over (in the case of a glitch such as you describe).

I am very conscious that I haven't really helped you mate but I'm sure you'll get there; sometimes it takes some real pain though

Interested to hear how you get on
All the Best - Mort

Download the Kursk mission1 v6 file again (I re-worked the
zone map).

Then, let us know how it works

Default Jumble of versions

Zee, Chucky, Morty,Lc, Eddie( the ees)

I for one am totally lost with the plethora of releases , versions etc.,Every time I read a post about a version v5 or v6 I rush to my own game to check what version do I have installed to see if I can relate or help or simply checki what I have. What we have is a jumble of mods, missions, releases and in the end everybody is confused as nobody knows what they have.I think it´s time to have a thread dedicated solely to the various versions of the Pre Kursk Alpha release in all its various versions and then the Kursk misisons to define exactly what they are, who should have them and why?Otherwise as new members come on board it´s going to get worse. Also there should be one specific thread dedicated solely to beta testing to avoid confusing others who are non testers.

What do you think?

I just checked out that thread ZW and it appears that I don't have all those files for some reason?
This is what I have from you so far.
Which ones don't I need any more? Which ones am I missing?
Once I have all the correct files I will do a clean re-install but in which order should I install the files?

1 - Fix_HitPoints (2KB)
2 - ReSupplyTsk (12KB)
3 - ZW_MO_Kursk_Mission_1_Pre-Alpha_v6 (6,711KB)
4 - ZW_MO_T34vTiger_Pre_Kursk_Alpha_v1 (275,285KB)
5 - ZW_MO_T34vTigerUpdate_v1 (2) (34,961KB)
6 - ZW_MO_T34vTigerUpdate_v1 (39,660KB)
7 - ZW_MO_T34vTigerUpdate_v2B (35,963KB)

I am totally head-********d
This is what comes from playing too much Battlefield Bad Company and not concentrating on TvT......

Ah Ha! Following installing the MEMBERS ONLY ZW German Mission 3 file it worked (sort of).
This time I still get no text for the mission briefing but the mission ran.
I noticed my sound was set to zero again so exited the mission and set it back to 100%.Re-ran mission and this time it crashed with a 'TvT is not responding' error.

Thanks for the e-mail ZeeWolf. I will now re-download the files you suggested,do a clean install and hope it works.

My,there were a lot of tanks at the start! Frame rates were about 10-15 FPS and I still have not fitted my uber-video card.Once I have that fitted I may like to try out the 'heavy' version.

Default Mod confusion suggestion

Hi all

I'm thinking this might help with the mod jumble. I use it for several games myself. It is free.

Generic Mod Enabler v2.0.0 (22 October 2007)
Written by Jaesen Jones
Copyright (c) 2003-2007 JoneSoft

"Do you have a game that can be "modded"? As you know, the number of "must have" mods for any game can run into the tens, if not hundreds. The Generic Mod Enabler takes most of the hassle out of installing and uninstalling mods from your game. It has been tested with European Air War, Panzer Elite, Silent Hunter III/IV, Total War and various other games but should work with just about any moddable game."

Thanks for the suggestion Raymond, but I don't think ZeeWolf uses this bit of software,I can't remember the reason.

It is good though,I used it for Steel Fury, with its multitude of different mods.

Thanks raymond6751, I love JGME I use it with SH-III and IV but that was
tried already and was a disaster. It seamed that the Vista and Win7 guys
had most if not all the trouble figuring it out (and of course nobody reads
the instructions) so I said the hell with it.
BTW the use of the Auto-installer method creates a storm of issues for some
of the Vista and Win7 guys. So the mire thought of adding another layer to that
confusion is something (at this time) am not ready for

Default JSGME vs Autoinstal

Raymond 6751 while the JSGME system works well with Steel Fury or Panzer Elite and I use it for these games but for ZeeWolf's mods his autoinstal system is very user-friednly and a much better solution. The JSGME is fun when you have a huge variety of mods which may or may not be compatible but at the stage of TvsT it's not yet an issue. Most of ZeeWolf's mods are compatible anyway except the High end user and Low end user ones.

Cheers
