Most fun dogfight you've ever been in?

I've been playing biplane vs biplane dogfights lately and those...so far...are the most fun dogfights I've ever played in IL-2.

What was your favorite dogfight?

EDIT: Just had a priceless moment. I'm flying the Avia 534 against Russian I-15's. I tore one in half and his wingman ran into the pilot who had just bailed out and crashed. I wish I had a video or screenshot for it. That'll never happen again.

Most fun - mock dogfight over the Irish Sea with Chipmunks from RAF Woodvale.

On PC it'd have to be something from RoF but I couldn't pin down one.

IL2 Forgotten Battles
a Saturday night till the early hours with Myself, Dowly and Danlisa all three totally wasted.
after a while there wasn't much of dogfighting going on anymore as it turned into me kissing control towers, Danlisa singing fly with me and dogfights usually ended up in crashing into the mountains or eachother mid air.

^^^^

I thought that the one were you (was it you?) and Dowly had a dogfight in Rise of Flight while on the ground was hilarious

Most fun dogfight? Possibly me in a CR42 against 50 P51Ds in Birds of Steel.

I won.

My dogfight moment to remember: many years ago, with Flanker 2.5. Using a Mig-29 myself versus 2 AI-flown F15s, guns and 2 IR per plane only. 5 Minutes of pure air ballet. Somehow the 6 missiles all got spent and hit nothing (in lethal Flanker - that alone is remarkable), and then the ballet began. For me, it was a perfect moment on a perfect day, it was up and down and left and right, from low above ground to some ten thousand feet, sometimes chasing one of the two, sometimes got both trailing on my 6.

Never had such a perfect dogfighting experience before or after again. I managed to survive for around 5 minutes maybe, then gunned one of my opponents, half a minute later got knocked out by the other. But I still start dreaming when remembering the flying. And even without TrackIR back then... I had a very good HOTAS setup with plenty of viewing options on it.

Flanker had the best flight model for jets in its time. As I recall memories of it, it still would hold its ground today. Very dynamic and non-linear, very different to Falcon's FM.

I lost my Flanker 2.5 Disc somewhere in my basement. I used to love that game. I don't recall being able to fly the Migs though? I only remember being able to fly the Su-27 and -33.

The sim was Flanker 2. A later upgrade they released, turning it into 2.5, included a complete, flyable model with all flight physics and in-cockpit 3D for the Fulcrum.

A Flanker 2.5 disc never existed, I think. Only 2.0

Think I shot Herr B. out of his A-10 with a Maverick once. Wasn't a dogfight, just a test case, but it gave me a good laugh.

Ah, they made a "best buy" golden collection super package of it then.

Back in those days, this is what it looked like over here. I have never seen the 2.5 box in stores.

It's a great sim either way. I really liked it.

I don't recall being able to fly MiG's in my 2.5 Version though.

The Mig-29K, to be precise. Yes, it had that.

Will you finally believe it...!?

I am not certain, but I think it was not before 2.5 that aerial refueling was possible, too. For the player, I mean.

Later came LOMAC. Then the DCS series with Blackshark and Warthog. Unfortunately one already could see in the early Flanker what later titles still suffer from, imo: the sterile, non-imserive environment and playing expereince. Technically the planes they simulate are works of wonder. I just find not much fun in using them in their environments. Technically sophisticated, but leaves my heart out in the cold.
