Default Install problems - U-Boat add on

I've had SH4 running for a while on my Windows 8 system. It is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory, no problems.

I downloaded the U-Boat Add-On from Amazon, and when I run the install file, it tells me that there it cannot detect SH4 on the system. I copied the entire SH4 directory in to a new directory (C:\Silent Hunter 4) and the install still did not detect it.

I've sent e-mail to Amazon support, but have not gotten any response yet.

Can anyone offer suggestions?

Default Oh yes, PC is like a black box.

>I've had SH4 running for a while on my Windows 8 system. It is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory, no problems.

Windows 8 system root is C:\Windows

You should select a directory of sh4.exe placed.

You'd better mail Ubisoft support. Amazon is a seller.

This is an reply as a newcomer.

Default More U-Boat add-on woes...

I'm another Newbie, so I hope I've bobbed up in the right place. I loaded SH4 "Gold" from a retail disc onto Windows 8 (been playing SH4 basic game before that, no probs) but NOW... everything's there ok EXCEPT my German War Patrols and Single Missions; all US stuff is present, and I can set off on a glorious U-Boat Campaign (lovely U-Boat) but when I click on "Switch Sides" in missions: Bubkiss! (Is this the correct expression?)

The disc came all the way from CANADA, incidentally. Could this be the reason?

There are various spellings, but the most common is "bupkis", which seems to be Yiddish for "goat feces".

I don't have SH4 installed currently, but if I'm remembering correctly the U-Boat add-on doesn't come with any single missions, which is why you aren't seeing any. There are some available, but I can't seem to remember where. Sorry.

Thanks, Steve: EXCELLENT! I often think I ought to learn Yiddish. And I guess that puts my question about U-Boat missions to bed too. Thanks again...

You're spot-on, Steve: I just found a review which confirms there were no German War Patrols or Single Missions in the expansion. No-one can think why, except that the developers planned such but never got a round tuit...
