Default From Penang to Bergen

I'm interested to make the long journey from Penang to Bergen and i'm curious about the state of the Atlantic, how well the game world is populated after you leave the Indian Ocean? The transit will be challenging (as it was IRL) or not ?
Has anyone done the mission? Thanks .

Are you in stock, or OM? I've not done it in either, but the Stock game doesn't have a lot of Atlantic traffic...

Excellent choice, but it doesn't change the traffic pattern on either the Fleet Boat (US) or the UBoat (German) side, so that remains basically "stock". You might see some activity once you get up around England, but once you leave the Indian Ocean going West, it will probably be rather thin. When you go to try it the first time, have "Unlimited Fuel" turned on, because there isn't anywhere to get fuel enroute... If you do decide on doing the trip, let us know what you encounter, if you would please.

Fuel is not an issue, i checked the max range and it showed 65 000 km (!) at Ahead Standard, and Bergen is only 30 000 away . This is highly unrealistic, i know they had close to 60000 km modified, when they were converted to transport uboats not with a full torpedo load but i guess it will be boring to do the mission with only two torpedoes .
What annoys me is that the War Patrol "Evacuation" doesnt allow some sub customization like in the campaign so i will have to do the trip with a lousy Metox Radar Warning Receiver (in 1945 it counts as a no radar receiver) and no anti-sonar coating .
I guess sharp lookouts and 200m+ depths are the salvation
I am tempted to try the mission anyway , i will update this thread with the progress if i will do it.

I've done this mission and was hoping to see some action around Portugal and France then England but nothing!
I also think a lot of missions involve journeys that are too long even using TC they can get boring.
