Condor
FS9
IL-2
Falcon 4
Longbow 2

This is the stuff currently residing on my HD, of course, after 20 years of flight simming, you have used and played a lot more than just this.

The military stuff I play extremely rarely nowadays, in the past months I used FS9 with compley aircraft addons excessively and exclusively, beside SBP. There are absolutley superb aircraft packages available for FS9, with hundreds of pages of manuals .

But I currently got hooked by Condor, which I consider now to be the best flight sim on the market in several regards. It's a shame that it is almost unknown to the wide public. I wanted to chnage that a little bit, so watch out for my review-like introduction to it, coming shortly. If you take both "flight" and "simulation" in "flight simulation" serious, it beats all the competition hands down and with closed eyes.

First off I thank you all for your replys.

Skybird I wait anxiously for your review on Condor with screen shots.

CCIP You also did the FIRST and IMHO the best mod for SH4:
The keymap mod. What was UBI thinking ?

I have : JANES WWII Fighters

All the IL2 series up to and include 1946
Got "46" to play online with you guys but,
You guys kinda scare me from reading your posts
and screen shots :rotfl:

LOMAC: Kinda boring

ACES HIGH II: When I got into computers in 2004
I found this on a google. It was free and I got my firs
taste of flight simming. It was love at first sight.

I immediatly ran out to game store and got a Saitek
ST90 stick. I know. Not much better than an early
ATARI joystick. :rotfl:

But hey I only had a $10.00 investment includeing
game.

Alot has changed since then. Have X52 with rudder
pedals.
Am seriously looking at Saitek yoke with 4 throttles
and flap levers and gauges.

As to future FS purchases I am interested in the
CFS series that most of you seem to have.

I like that OFF mod for WWI fighters where you fly by the seat of your pants with no landing gear or flaps to worry about. Just go in GUNS ABLAZEING.

Now thats flying IMHO.

I'm also looking forward to SKYBIRD's review on Condor.

You all have listed alot of FS that I'm going to have to spend the better part of today Googleing.

I know what you mean. I went nuts on ebay and bought some that are in original box that are floppy but what great manuals in those days.

These are by MICROPOSE and in mint condition and only paid $5.00 includeing shipping each.

I've never played them. Just to add to collection.

You've got my curiousity on JET Any screen shots ?

Man! You don't know what the first F-16/F-18 sim looked like? I'm appalled! This was hot stuff when it first came out and I got my hands on it. Managed to get an actual IBM AT (fast computer in its day) to play this thing on! I loved it! I could spend hours trying to go Mach 2! This is back in 1984 or there abouts.

Give me a minute. I'll find a screenshot. I'd load it up, but I don't think I have a 5.25" floppy drive around here. I might, but its probably in storage at the bottom of some big computer parts box!

Not sure about boring, but I have to admit - tried to get into it 3 times now and just didn't manage to. It didn't grab me. I learned to fly a couple of the planes and then gave up, usually for technical reasons more than anything (couldn't get my previous machines to run the game well). I still plan to give it another go sometime.

And I'm probably going to grab an old copy of CFS3 sometime soon just for OFF.

It is boring for those that have played more complex sims. Since you are an ex Falcon jocky, I doubt you will ever like LOMAC unless you are playing with friends.
