Default AI minesweeper

Hi

I'm just wondering if the minesweeper surface ships like the Osprey actually do active minesweeping?
I noticed that if they (accidentally) go over a mine they are destroying it without taking any damage. However, they do not seem to search for mines, and even if told to engage a particular mine, they just follow their assigned tactic.
The only thing I found to make the AI destroy mines is to detect them myself, and make a promoted solution "subsurface, hostile". The friendly AI ships will then (hopefully) launch a torpedo that may or may not hit the mine. However, minesweepers are still idling around then...

Any ideas?

thanks inetd and MaHuJa for the idea.

After lots of test and work on it, I finally make it works

using suicide attack and triggers, you can make the Osprey cleaning an area of all mines.

I made a tutorial mission to show this =>

http://okof4.free.fr/missions/DW/tuto/mine_sweeper.mu

to test this scenario, just launch the game, use show truth and watch the work of the Osprey on random box mines.
It works perfect ! good job on Osprey Sonalysts !

here you can see an Osprey destroying 4 mines.
I tried to use the strict minimum of instruction to do that.
It works perfect this way, but if you have idea of improvment, please let us know.

For my part, I will start a MP mission based on this.
Some US plateform guarding Ospreys as they do their job, with some red subs trying to sink Ospreys during this time.

thanks very much for the idea.
I hope you will find this usefull

Cheers

I think SCS should realy tell us what works and what not.

I am absoluty capable of taking the reality, but I think its unfair to let us try and try and try etc...

as soon as i will finish the brief of the minesweeping mission, I will release it, and you will see you can get round with difficulties most of the time (not always but very often)
I found a solution for minesweeping that always work ... if you know where the mines are ....

But as you said, it's sometimes a long work and quite boring ....
