Default SH4 Disk Not Detected

Wow-!

It's been a few years since I've poked around the forums here. Glad to see it alive and kicking and that many of the old hands are still around!

I've come back to subsimming now after a rather lengthy hiatus. Reinstalled SHIII and got it running after all the Win10 silliness made that much more of an ordeal than it has any business being.

Thought I'd re-install SHIV as well so I could get TMO up and running again but when I put the game disk into my drive it didn't detect it! I know it can't be an issue with the drive - it installed SHIII fine and has detected everything else I've put in there since buying it.

I'll admit this one has me a tad stumped. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

~Schwieger

Check to see if it has any scratches 1st.
A scratch can cause problems.
Is it dirty or have smudges?
Sometimes I don't get the pop up window and have to open the drive with Explorer.

Thanks for the reply. I've done some testing with other disk drives as well. It looks like the disk isn't good. I will likely grab another copy.

Cheers!

Try right-clicking to open the CD / DVD and copy the contents to the hard drive to run the installation from the hard drive.
This works mostly with damaged media, as long as they are not destroyed.

I recall somewhere there was also a file for running it without the disc??

I have all the files on the hard drive then run it off that and it has never asked me for a disc.

Found it:
