Welcome back Mr. Wood. Happy to have you with us.

First thing I would recommend is that you have v1.5 of SH4. This is what most all of the mods are to geared to nowadays. The mods are varied and many and need the JSGME to install. The most used mega mods are TMO 2.5, RFB 2.0, and GFO. The one I would recommend is FOTRSU. It's in a Beta version at the moment, but is constantly being worked on by our team of experts and newer versions come out every so often. Most all mods you will use depend on your personal tastes, which makes it hard to suggest which ones would suit you. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask, we've got a great bunch of guys around and are always willing to lend a hand.

welcome back, buddy.
i would play the stock game in the Pacific. at least 6 or 8 patrols. just to get your legs.
then, you can choose among the many mega-mods as your next step.
