Version Discrepancy

ALCON,

I just purchased and installed both SH4 and the U-Boat Missions via Steam. I attempted to play with both the RSRD and RFB mods, but got missing file errors before I could access the main menu. I discovered another thread which will help me solve that issue.

However, I am puzzled as to which version I should have since I just purchased the game today. I have read that the U-Boat expansion brings the game to 1.5, but when I initiate the game w/o the mods, clicking on either the base game or the expansion shortcut, it brings me to the U-Boat Missions loading screen. Then, when the main menu comes up, it says v 1.3 at the bottom. Das hat mich sehr verwirrt!

And on top of that, it gives me no option to select the U-Boat missions!

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

you need to install the game first then install the v1.5 ad-on then it should read v1.5 in the options screen

if not then you have issues with your download of the ad-on

I reinstalled both. I don't know why, but everything works now. I had installed everything in order before, so it doesn't make much sense to me.

Now, just need to get the mods working. Since you are the one who came up with the solution for the "missing files" problem, I might as well ask you since you are here. For the patches for both RSRD and RFB, are those supposed to be enabled through JSGME? And what about all of the "*may* have adverse effect" messages? Just click yes on all of them?

The answer is yes. You will get warnings as some of the same files are involved.

This is the proper order to enable the mods:

RFB 2.0
RFB 2.0 patch
RSRDC_RFB_v575
RSRDC patch

Make sure that you have the correct version of RSRDC. If you want to disable these mods, make sure you do so in reverse order; otherwise you may experience undesirable results.
