Default Scratch built 1/96 type 212

Thought you guys might like to see this. Long story but I made the hull masters and molds. The final product is epoxy glass. David Merriman made the prop, deck fittings, scopes, masts and arrays.

She is a static diver. She does not need speed to dive but rather can dive in place like a real boat. Complete with fail safe should I lose signal, she will blow ballast and surface.

The picture above shows the WTC of the boat in the early stages of construction.

And here's a short video of the maiden pool trials.

Enjoy bubble heads!

She's amazing as ever, sir

I'd love to see some videos of her doing a static dive. Or does it go out of trim with that?

CCIP,

Thanks a bunch. When I take her to the lake I'll get that static dive.

Thanks again,

Steve

Nice U-Boat,

Must been made with a lot of care, really amazingly detailed for a RC controlled submarine.
great work, sir

That looks like a lot of fun, great finish on the sub too, that's very lifelike, there's a very convincing sheen to the surface colour. Just need to dye the swimming pool the same colour as the Atlantic and you'll be in business.

Incidentally, both times I've tried to register at Subpirates forums, it says I should get an email confirming it's been enabled by the moderator, but that never happened on the two occasions I tried to register, so if anyone who actually can post on that site reads this, do you know why that might be so?

Chock,

Found your account and it's activated. Sometimes I'm asleep at the wheel with so much to do. And thanks for the kind words!
