Default dangerous waters?

these f.. eskorts are extremely precise ...
3.9.39, 50m under water, 1 knot, silent running- armed trawler hits me and then again- he know where I'm, none of escape movements seems to be working...
is it normal? (I play SH3 for ages, SH3 default, RuB, GW, and now GWX- about 5 carriers endes)

@ Wara

These escorts are not 'Uber' and you can loose them. You say that you were at 50m, was this due to the depth of the area? Go deeper!

Also, you must now plan your approach, you can no longer just sit in front of a convoy at 0 kts and wait for it to pass over you. You will be detected.

The best approach is to come in from the side of a convoy, find a gap between the lead escort and the flanking escort. This way you will be in front of the flanking escorts sensor range and in the 'blind' spot behind the lead escort.

50m was depth of the area, I was sitting on the bottom of sea
Im always attacking from the side of a convoy, im not a noob of sub sims
the trawler was on his patrol duty not in convoy, but on southwest of England...
i was quiet, but he detected me and sank me

50m is not too deep if you get caught by ASDIC. I would go much much deeper (180-200m at least). Now since you couldn't go any deeper you increase the chances of being spotted. In GWX the DDs are not super deadly. If you spend some time playing the game and experiment a bit you will find the tactics that work for you. Ideally you want to go deep and with silent running.

Orange marker - You can replace this by copying the file Umark.tga from a stock version of SH3 into GWX. The location is the same just use windows search.

D'oh now i feel really thick never thought about clicking on the shell icon thanks for both of the Tips mate Appreciated

Default I was Wondering

Hello ALL

I installed gwx and Love it Great Work Grey Wolfs Teams : Salute :

I fairly New to modding I messed around with a few games. But i think i read some where in here you need the Data folder with the mods in order for them to work.?
The reason i am asking in becuase I don't have one with the 23rd correction mod?
Should there be One in there? The other mods are. Now I have not tried to play without it so I don't know if the changes are working.
I noticed some poeple saying the DD's are to Sharp and Hone right in on your postion. I notice this myself also.Could this be My 23rd correction but Installed right? ( My main question)

secondary questions
How Good was ASDIC in 1939 to early 1940?
Question On Early Convoys. Didn't some go without DD's escorts Becuase the lack of Ships in early war. Because I never Seen less than 4 Escorts In GWX How was this Modeled?

If you need the Dec-23 patch you can download it from the link in my signature. After that put it in the MODS folder, disable all mods, enable the patch (Dec-23) and after that enable what other mods you like. You're ready to go.

Yes, we are trying for January 31. Real Life may delay it... but we hope not.

Kudos to all team members and testers from the warm caribbean waters.
I'm only at the begining of campaign, january 40, don't think the DD's are so much worse than before, but avoid the Pass of Calais, there I encounter even 6 DD's and PT boats hunting me, impossible survive.
My only complain is the color of the tonnage sunk in the ranking sheet, where can I change this?
Best regards.

Good hunting.
