Yes,

when you got a squadron ready,
in the object viewer (aircraft type, waypoints, etc et)
Then you have tabs like Plane1, plane2, plane3
from there you have a slider from where you can change the skins for each plane 1 plane at the time..

IN A CAMPAING YOU TWAT! NOT IN FECKING MISSION BUILDER!!! FFS, I have used the FMB since the date the original IL2 was released for poops sake! :rotfl:

I'm playing an DCG campaing, and instead of those fugly green messerschmitts, I want to have a better high res skins for the AI. I tried renaming the skin to default.bmp, but that doesnt work as the default skin isnt in the folder.

Mmmmm....Dowly and I fighting,
Kratos that aint something new...you should have seen us in the first days of online dogfighting

''Come here you (bleep), what (bleep) , for..(bleep,bleep!)
bleeeep! , ah you finnish (bleeeeep!)''

if Dowly would have recorded the teamspeak the first days, he would be forced to remove 89% of the Language with Bleeps

but...

which BF109 are you talking about?
I know that one of the BF109's Early/Mid versions have a special skin called green.bmp
the campaign seems to use the extra skins as well in IL2 especialy campaigns with an Ace in it

or is it the Green fuselage and yellow nose one?
because IL2 campaigns must have to use one of the skins in the skin folder in order to display.
my suggestion is take the exact BF109 that is flying in your campaign, go to the skin folder make a back up of that folder, place for example the subsim skin in it and give them all the exact names as shown in the folder.
and test that

Yeh, it's the green one with yellow nose. The one that looks like if a monkey skinned it.

The skin isnt in any of the Messerschmitt folders, so it has to be hidden somewhere (D'oh!).

And speaking of aces, my squadron's last sortie was a sad one. Squadron commander (17 victories) was killed in a failed crashlanding and three other aces from my Sqdrn were killed. Fecking RAF...

:hmm: Then it's time to dig in the folders of IL2...
because they must be somewhere, but probally my guess its some crappy attached campaign file which wont allow you to change the skins....

Well, there's no default.bmps. I did a search and found nothing. But what I found was that they use a file called default.bmp, which I think is packed with the model somewhere. But it's not in any folder.
