Default Vast Bomber Formation in IL2 (56k warn)

The 3rd and biggest ever bomber practice too place tonight.
Every single bomber was human controled, no AI.

21 x B25Js in formation is a awsome sight and sound.
For me and the other guys who organised it, it was it was also, at times a awsome organiseational headache!

None of those that flew are part of any organised group or clan. Many of the people where flying in formation for the first time.

We pulled it off perfectly and even shot down a few enemy fighters on the way.

Here are the screens!

One more screen

Thanks to magnum for this one!

No, these events take months or weeks to organise so they are done on a locked server. However, all the organization is done on the battle-fields forums (the guys who run UKD3) and many of the pilots are UKD veterans.
We also draw pilots from the danger dogs, historia and winds of war as well as the general public.

You are more than welcome to join the next event. I can post details once the announcement is made if you like.

would be cool if you do,
but must I be in a squadron or something in order to be part of the event?

but my guess is if you have a couple of mates with ya in the Uk3ded, you are flying formation with the bombers right?
well, at least the last time I wasnt really considered a friendly in the air with the deadly BF110 :rotfl:
but I think I will go on your side if I see you buzzing around in the Uk3ded server

do you fly often during the week letum?

Yes, I usualy fly on UKD3 most nights anytime between 6pm and 11pm BST.

You don't need to be part of any group to take part in the bomber formations, we are all just a bunch of civies.

Looks like we will be flying Ju88s or He11s next time.
