Default Seeing undetected torpedoes, aircraft and ASW missiles?

Would it be possible to have a mod or for the devs to patch in a fix where you can't see torpedoes that your sonarman hasn't detected or is unable to detect due to the torpedo attacking from your baffles? It feels kind of cheaty that you can see torpedoes/enemy ASW missiles/aircraft from miles out that you wouldn't be able to hear. Also, you can still cycle through all of the torpedoes visually through the f3 key currently if you lose contact with them on the map.

Only torpedos you detected are on the tactical map, I think. And for the 3D view use the realistic view mod. It is awesome and solves the problem for sure!

You will only see torps that was detected by you, that's why you will even lose track on your own torp when you change heading and depth at times. For the event animation, just turn on the realistic setting.

I think the OP is talking about being able to see all torpedoes and aircraft using F3 and F4 keys. And he's right, currently there's no setting to change that.
My only advice would be to not use them.

And those torpedoes that are delivered by cruise missiles. I know I shouldn't use them, but the temptation is too great sometimes, just turning them off somehow would help me.

There is one solution.

Take hammer and give it to your wife, now all she has to do is hit your finger if you try to use F3 or F4 keys.

Soon you remember not to touch those keys.

I'd rather not give my wife a weapon, then give her permission to use it on me.

You can also try unbinding those keys.

I've done this, but it's only a partial solution.

When you click on contacts on the tactical map, if you exit it without pressing F1 (your sub view), you end up with an external view of the selected contact.

Yes, but you can't select torpedoes that are not detected or aircraft, and that was OP's problem.

In flight sims, these camera views are pretty standard, We put them in there because we felt it's better to see more of the action rather than less of it.
