xbox360 controller for windows and IL-2 1946

I have that game from steam and I've played this game a lot with that Saitek ST-90 joystick (which it is the ****ty joystick ever.) I wonder if I have the xbox360 controller for windows, will it work for IL-2 1946?

That was my first joystick I got in 2004 for $9.99 at GameStop game store. It was at least usb.

I haven't tried, but there's no reason why it shouldn't work.
