Default RC Tanks anybody?

Have any of you ever owned a remote control tank? They are getting pretty reasonable and are allot of fun even for us old guys!

I got this one 4 years ago

They are around 80$ now and 120$ with smoke and sound! All fire airsoft pellets

im an old fart, but i like EM!!

avoid heng long tanks, utterly crap....

Right now im waiting for a jagdpanther, have the panther, but nwant my favorite...

With a wireless cam mountet and some convergence shooting, you can roam around and stalk....DONT fire at animals, kids are others...

Also on youtube you van find loads of info how to tune the gun...as an old hardball player i have changed some bits and bobs from a hardball MP5 and my panther shoots around 30-35m aimed shots (hop up)

Its awsome.....and yes they are cheap now....like tanks, get one...

On my river raider RC boat im using 3 tiger turrets

My HL tiger has lasted 4 years and many accidents and still runs fine.

They make allot of expensive aftermarket parts too and even guides to retrofit Tamya parts!

I'm gonna redo my entire HL tiger soon with a 3:1 reduction gears, metal wheel's, tracks, suspension arms, hardware, lower hull and add a recoil gun.

On that note I pulled out my war worn trusty Tiger and charged up the battery when I lifted the tank to put the battery in the rear idler pulley fell off! The pin support cracked in half In all fairness its an easy breasy repair and I am suprised its lasted this long since I have driven it through everything you could think of and even off the end of my bed once! Lost the muzzle break in that accident.

So off to the Panzerwaffe repair shop she goes this weekend to get her wheel reinforced. Then to test her out, Been two years at least since I drove it.

Interesting commanders view!

"You bleed purple AND like RC tanks? WTH?"
I ask you what kind of Viking wouldn't? The German's even had a panzer division named Wiking. W's are pronounced V's in German so that is how they spell VIKING!

Any mods to der Panther? Who makes it? Steel tracks?

Okay I must admit I was a bit apprehensive about this tank working without throwing $$$ at it. The good news is after making the repair to the rear idler support I scrounged up some AA batteries and the controller worked. First real test passed!!!

Keep in mind that this tank was last used in 2007 and was stored outside in a container in AZ that gets to be 110+ degrees outside So I wasn't so sure that the Battery pack was still good let alone the rest of her! All is well my friends. With the top off I just drove my lower half for 3 minutes before the battery died on me but It was good to see her working!

Next up some paint!

Well was a really busy day, No work so all play. I cut the front turret mantel off and reversed it so the gunsight is on the right. Fixed an inacuracy that bugged me from day one.

I cut the commanders cupola, they glued it on at the wrong angle so the commanders hatch now opens towards the loaders hatch.

Tightened the gear box, after all these years and miles it worked some screws loose.

Relocated the fire warning red LED to the machine gun hole on the mantlet.

Cleaned up the main gun barrel where the muzzle break, Broke. dremeled it even and glued the barrel together over the aluminum barrel.

And changed the OIL!

Tiger is now officially ready for duty!
