Default Twos: bouncing/breakdancing ships at harbor/ports

Could not use search due to the search mask disappering. Suppose it is due to my phonw.

Anyways. I stumbled upon the issue of painstalkingly making my way to a british harbor, only to see ships blowing up, and two titanic-look alikes spinning on it's bow.

Is this a default bug and ports should be avoided

How's that 'ships blowing up' ? Maybe an an air attack on the harbor? I have never seen this one during campaign, but it's possible if you are there just at the right time...

You play TWoS, do you?

Yes probably friendly planes doing the job…
Happened to me twice in first mission. Was waiting submerged quitly in good position to launch, when friendly planes just pop up and destroyed the boats i was aiming

Hi S
What you are describing typically happens when you attack non moving ships docked in port.
SH5 does not handle this situation very well and therefore have to describe it as a bug.
Port attacks in TWOS for example have been discouraged by Vecko who has made it much more difficult to just enter a harbor and blow up everything around and just leave.
The other scenario maybe an air attack causing this to happen.
You may well have experienced in the Baltic Operation the Polish escorts charging about on fire and never sinking.

Really? I remember few years before TWOS, i sank many boats docked without any trouble or bugs … and were added to my tonnage bar

The ships have probably spawned in too shallow waters. Can't do much about it except to remove them completely.

Yes, TWoS.

I arrived and noticed a ship already bouncing like crazy until it went full top spin cartwheels. When it blew up, lifeboats flew through the air.

I suppose it really was a buggy spawn of parked ships.
