Default Instalation problem

Hello,
I got myself in a pickle here. I have made a clean install but the game starts windowed and when i go to change settings it does not work, the game freezes.I noticed however the the folder SH4 in My Documents is not created properly. No settings , no CFG files, nothing. I tried to copy the CFG files from the main instalation files but the game while starting does not retain the settings i made. I tried a game and the installation seems borked. In a tutorial mission i can not acces the periscope and other stations. Any ideas? Did a clean uninstall with revo uninstaller and tried again but no luck.
Thanks!

Hi bybyx
Do not install your game by choice in the Program files (x86) directory as it has restrictions.

Set your SH4.exe as an administrator.
Post #417 How To Run The SH5.exe As Administrator > Pictorial

Install L.A.A.
Large Address Aware (LAA) Installation Instructions For Windows 10 By CapnScurvy < Essential Application For SH4

Start your game and when the game loads select "Options" setup your graphics resolution to match your native monitors.
You can also adjust "Game play and Sound " also if you wish to.
Go back to the main menu and select "Submarine School".
This will create your SH4 saved games folder in C:\Documents.
You do not need to select any tutorial.

Make sure your gpu is setup correctly for SH games.

You can install JSGME and mods or this might be of interest.

I did that but the game freezes when i try to change the graphic settings. The problem is in the SH4 folder that the game creates when in starts for the first time. That folder is in automatically created in My Documents and somehow it is not created properly. There are no cfg there. I am at a loss as it is the first time i got this

Oh God i managed to solve it!!! It was the Bit Defender antivirus . It has a file protection system and it was blocking the game and the game could not create the proper files and i think that the folder where the files were created was read-only so i unchecked that to allow the game to make and modify the proper files. Jesus Christ!!!
This should be put somewere so that other people can debug something similar.
