Well I know a way to do this.
This is how :
In ..\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg folder you will find the GameplaySettings file.
Open with notepad
In this block :

[RealismPercentage]
LimitedBatteriesRealismPercentage=5
LimitedCompressedAirRealismPercentage=1
LimitedO2RealismPercentage=6
LimitedFuelRealismPercentage=6
RealisticVulnerabilityRealismPercentage=5
RealisticRepairTimeRealismPercentage=8
RealisticShipSinkingTimeRealismPercentage=2
ManualTargetingSystemRealismPercentage=10
NoMapUpdateRealismPercentage=0
RealisticSensorsRealismPercentage=11
DudTorpedoesRealismPercentage=4
RealisticReloadRealismPercentage=6
NoEventCameraRealismPercentage=3
NoExternalViewRealismPercentage=10
NoStabilizeViewRealismPercentage=5
NoNoiseMeterRealismPercentage=12
NoWeaponOfficerAssistRealismPercentage=6

change the values to your liking and save.
Make sure that all values add up to 100%.
Always keep a back up of the original if something goes wrong.

This method though can easily be considered as cheating because it lets play at "100%" realism but your real percentage can be much lower.

It is up to you to decide.

Quickest way is to pick two functions you use.

Set those two you use at 99% and 1% respectively, giving you a choice of 99% maintains your ability to port back to base.

Is there a fix for 3.0 that pertains to maintaining depth? My Type IIA will not maintain depth, and always runs shallower than what I set the depth as. For example, I'm around Scapa Flow, with depth set to 14m, but it's running at 8-10m with perfectly calm water. Is this a bug? There is still another 12m under the keel too, so the floor isn't limiting my depth.

I am experiencing some weird troubles:

1. Game keeps firing end of the war after I'm returning to base in january 1942, but only if I close the career. After the patrol I can normally start the next one, play it and all and it even appears in game files in documents, but every saved game is not available.
2. I started new career and I can see that all the messages added by GWX as well as ship names are in French. Is there any way to fix that?

Did you enable the optional "fix French" mod or whatever it's called that came with GWX? If so, you need to disable it. It's only for people who play the game in French instead of German or English.

IS it normal to have a GWX briefing state to do one thing and orders be completely different? Example: Briefing states that if I were from Flotilla 1 or 2 its a 5 day shakedown cruise. Flotilla 7 its stay inside the bay and run a target practice. Mean while I am ordered off the coast of Scotland and its August 1st 1939. This makes no sense at all. Still love the game though.

Sure it makes sense. In Germany, August of 1939, war with England appeared to be probable. (England and Germany were officially at war in September.) In August, Doenitz sent U-boats out to pre-determined positions to await the beginning of hostilities between England and Germany.

Also, if you think about it... "shakedown cruises" are a good excuse in political terms, for pre-positioning your military assets.

Welcome to Subsim, Nicolai.

All of these matters are covered in the GWX manual that comes with your installation. The manual can also be downloaded from www.thegreywolves.com

I'm a crazy realism guy. What I do is use SH3 Commander to set 'Days in Base' to 18. I then run a little mini-patrol and use the downtime to set up my crew the way I want them, again using Commander. My first "real" patrol has me leaving base on August 19, which is when 14 boats were actually sent out to wait for "further orders". They were on station when the war started on September 1, and that's exactly where I am when Britain declares war on the 3rd.

So it makes perfect sense, because that's what really happened. It means two weeks of waiting, but hey, that's the way it was.

Yes Operation Weiss the scramble to get 14 boats out to see and the realization set in of the terrible torpedo shortage since 1935! That is why so few boats could go out to the patrol lines. Read about it here.

Default Looking for MD5mate software

According to the installation instructions on the Grey Wolves website, it is recommended to test all the downloads for GWX 3.0 with MD5mate software,
I have been searching this site and the web. All the links come up empty.
Can someone put me on to a source for this utility? Thanks in advance.
