IL-2 1946 Mods and Downloads Questions

My connection is slow. I wont be able to fly online.

I have a stock, vanilla version installed now.

I want to try out Ultrapack because i hear it allows me to fly every plane. (I would like to fly the TBF, B-17, B-29, etc.) If there is another way to unlock these planes, please let me know.

Which patches do i need. How do i go about downloading Ultrapack. I would then like to know about this DBW mod. I am prepared to wait awhile for the download for UP to finish.

I hear that the torrent download version will pause/resume my download.

I am very new to this game. I have just mastered Carrier takeoff. (at least the american ones) I have a couple career kills so far. I love it so far. My old IL-2 is nothing in comparison. I feel like a total badass in my F4F over the Coral Sea. (Even though there is no scenery.)

I like the fact that the pearl harbor attack is in the game. I really like playing that mission.

Also. Any tips, tricks, hints, strategies, etc would be welcome.

I suggest the HSFX Mod, it's got the big list of new flyable planes but it includes a huge list of mods included to make the game more realistic.

I have version 4.0 and I love it, it has most maps that most offline campaign and online campaigns need.

As for more missions and things, you will first need IL-2 version 4.09, HSFX above needs a version 4.11.1 I think, I'm a little behind.

you will need to register but thats not a very big deal at all. You can download anything from mission packs to offline campaigns to skins and skin packs, it's pretty huge and it's been my home for IL-2 stuff for a long time.

I think sledge has pretty much covered it, the sites you should visit are 242sqn, mission4today, and sas1946 for anything and everything you'll need.

I found a Aircraft and Sound Megapack v1.0 on fileplanet. Does anybody use this mod? It is about 280 mb. More my kinda download. It claims to unlock all the unflyable planes.
