Default A Must Have Mod

One mod I have not seen anywhere is, I believe, a must have.

The ability for the gunner to adjust the range sliding the range wheel. Last trip out on the Drum, I nearly came a cropper because I have to stop firing and go to conning tower binos to get my range. It is the one thing I hate on SH4.

Wouldn't be so bad if the gun didn't reset to zero. When you come back, you've got to swing that darn thing back around again. Tedious.

Maybe there's a way to keep this from happening?

have to agree this is a PITA because in real life you would be getting accurate range updates called out to you from the bridge so why they would eliminate such info feedback is puzzling

Am I missing something here, "because I have to stop firing and go to conning tower binos to get my range"? If you use Ctrl-v you get range to nearest target, which I use since I'm usually firing at the closest enemy ship.

Depends upon which mod you have activated...

thanks for the heads up on ctrl V - will try it later when in right situation. But does ctrl V give you a range on the gun, or just tells you how far, leaving the gunner to manually adjust range. If it does it partially solves the problem but using the range wheel is still the best option. I also note that ctrl V depends on the mods active.
