We shot down a few squadrons worth of those, not to mention all the Zeros and Rufes In the last mission alone, when only Raptor was present, I shot down seven Betties, of which the AI "stole" one before it hit the sea. Approaching them FAST from high 4-5 or 7-8 o'clock seems to work quite well: It gives you plenty of time to fire, at least with the Corsair, and limits your exposure to the tail 20 mm. I didn't even ram any!

The CVE ramming a Cruiser was quite funny though. Did anyone get a screenie?

The map we're using is the stock IL2 Marianas map, and we are flying JastaV's Marianas44 campaign with DCG. I won't be there tonigh btw, I'll be flying with II./JG53
