I would try to reinstall, before buying another version of game. Don't see how that would help, really. I have SH4 v1.5 on Win 7 - 64 bit (and updated), and it works ok. The only problem is the Alt-Tab CO2 issues, which did not used to happen with Vista - 32 bit.

You could also consider taking the updates out.

Absolutely I would try a reinstall before buying it again. I have run it on 2 different windows 7 laptops and 1 desktop all 64 bits. All installed with the disk. All Sh4 1.5. I did have a problem on one laptop after a Nvidia update. I reinstalled the game and it ran fine. Good Luck. Give a shout out if you still have problems

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Loaded the Os, loaded Silent hunter(not on the system drive but to a separate drive), loaded JSGME, loaded my mods list ... never had an issue and that is without the LAA patch.
