Default Bridge Cam

I've just re-installed SH4 to my PC, and I've forgotten more than I remember. My first question is, how do I walk around on the bridge?

Probably depends on which mods you might be running, but with mine it's the arrow keys which get you around the bridge.

Nope. Arrow keys were the first thing I tried, being as that's what works in SH3.

are we talkin' Wolves of the Pacific here; I have never installed my original in box: with keyboard chart manual, map, and detailed Imperial Japanese ship poster. Pg. 55 of manual: F5 is 'bridge' key. Opens icons for 'go to bridge'; 'crew on bridge'; 'recog manual'; 'tbt'; 'target info'; and 'chronometer'...didn't note walkaround keys as in SH-V (w-a-s-d)...

With the game as is and no mods, you couldn't move around the bridge. You could rotate your view around a fixed point, but that was it. You could walk around the control room, but only if you hit shift + F2.

I'm running Op Monsun right now. I'm trying to remember if I could walk around the bridge before, but it's been too many years.

In RFB, the arrow keys will make you to pivot. If you double click on the screen (so that the cursor disappears), then they allow you to slide around, forwards, backwards, left, or right.
