OLEACC.dll error in SH4 v1.5

Hi everyone I'm new to this site and was directed here "Reece"
Note that this problem does not stop the game from running like it should its just weird that all the sudden I'm getting this error, help on this would be great. Then I can reinstall v1.5 and all is good.

I have one question for anyone out there that could help me.

Question:
When I installed SH4 I also bought the v1.5 Wolfpack add-on. I installed the both with no problems. I stop playing the game for about a year, and when I started back I get this "OLEACC.dll" error during startup. Some type of command line program that can't find the dll, but the dll is there under Windows in the system folder.

I unstalled the game and reinstalled it. I didn't get the error untill I installed the v1.5 upgrade. At the moment I have uninstalled the SH4 then reinstalled it an upgraded to v1.4 with no problems about "OLEACC.dll".

Reply on OLEACC.dll error...

Thanks for the web site infomation. Recived some conflicting data though, the "SFC" program I ran told me that there were some corupted files, but windows could not fix them. I was also directed to the /windows/logs/CBS/ directory to read a file that had more information "CBS.log" it showed that files have been fix on my system.

So, I guess tomorrow I will take a chance and see if the OLEACC.dll was one of them. If not I will try extracting that file from my backup disks.

The worst thing is having to reinstall SH4 again, but isn't that what computers are all about fixing things!

I do want to thank you for the help on this problem, I had totaly forgot about the SFC program as I don't use DOS that much anymore.

Boot your PC into "safe mode" and run SFC from there.

Do yourself a favour and keep that install untouched. Instead you simply take a copy of it for use with each of your major mods.

I have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about!

Ok I will try that, I kinda figured that would be the case!

Good idea, but all the mods are for version 1.4 and if I install the v1.5 upgrade then they won't work. It's no big deal I can rebuild. On the other hand, if I get the same error I will end up reinstalling SH4 then add the mods back, is that what you mean about the copy?

Oh nothing, I work on computer systems and is seems some days there is always someone out there having some type of weird problem.

Thanx Ewall007
