Default Nav map zoom problem

Anyone had any problems like this?
I can't seem to fully zoom on the nav map. The furthest I can zoom is so that 1 square on the map is 1000m in length.
The highest zoom level should have the square length at 250m.

Hope its not a mod I've installed.
I went a little mad downloading them yesterday.

Almost certainly a mod problem.

On my machine, "OLC 'Gold' MkII" is the culprit. If that (alone, or with the "OLC 'Gold' MKII update") is the only mod activated I cannot zoom closer than 2500m. Also my sub and ALL contacts are lost unless at some ridiculous 10 or 15km zoom-out. I prefer the interface, but it makes the game unplayable. At least on MY machine which is running Win 7.

While searching for a solution to a OLC Gold MkII problem, I found the very same issue I have in this old thread.

I cannot zoom in beyond 2500 meters !!!

GWX, all mods disabled, the zoom works fine. I have tried all four of OLC Golds one at a time and the zoom won't go below 2500.

Everything was running fine until I updated JSGME to it's latest version. (Yes, I disabled all mods before I did it.)

Any help on this one?

Thanks,
AD

Salute, sENoZ !

The Magui Final is a fine GUI, I would like a solution to the problem with OLC's work.

Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?

here's the relevant part from my data/menu/cfg/maps.cfg file. You can open yours with Notepad. You can try changing the line ZoomLevels=1,2,5,... etc to see if that solves the problem. I have never tried OLC Gui so I have no idea if doing this would cause other problems in that GUI, so take a backup copy of your maps.cfg before fiddling around with it.

[Map0]
MapID=Navigation_map
Position=0,0
Resolution=1024,656
MajorSqrs=4,2.4
MinorSqrs=5,5
PixPerUnit=50
ZoomLevels=1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,2000,40 00,7000,10000,20000,40000; meters per pixel
InitialZoom=20000
SymbolZoom=20000;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up
GroupsZoom=40000;units are drawn in groups from this zoom up
CityZoom=10000;city names are displayed from this zoom down
KriegZoom=2000;krieg labels are separated displayed from this zoom up
HarborZoom=50;harbors will be displayed from this zoom up

Thats It !!!!

Thanks, Sublynx !!!

Now I have a question for anyone using OLC... do/did you have this same problem? The zoom levels That Sublynx posted (1,2,5,10,20 etc) started at 20 on all of the OLC versions of his GUI as found in my MODS folder. So I just inserted the 1,2,5,10 into the file.

The funny thing is, I had been running that mod without the zoom problem and it only goofed up when I updated my version of JGSME.

As instructed, I first disabled all mods, updated JGSME, reactivated the mods and thats when the zoom problem manifested.

Anyone have problems with mods messing up after updating JGSME?

IIRC OLC made a deliberate change in the zoomlevels that you could use the map in. Something to do with forcing the player to keep a crude grand overview instead of super precise GPS locating of the icons on it.
