The numbers shown on your screen have already taken into account the different sensitivities of the sonars.

Did the Dev confirmed it? If that is the case they are doing it wrong. db is a constant. 10bd is the same amount of noise no matter you equipment sensitivity. if the value 10 represent a detection threshold. They should call it detection threshold not db.

not sure if I'm mistaken, but does the sensor comparison page actually refer to db's anywhere?

More to the point, he's wrong. dB is relative, and requires a reference to become an absolute value. dB SPL is absolute with a reference to either 1 (usually in water) or 20 micropasals (in air, which approximates limit of human hearing).

Lets not get technical. Within the confine of the game. It's a constant. a 10db signal detected by a Kresta II and a Udaloy is the same strength. But upon reading the manual again and checking in game. They just refer it as signal strength and not DB. So it's more a detection level so it's easier for the player. I stand corrected.

Default Question of my own

So is there a way to check your objectives on a mission? I have trouble remembering where I am supposed to be heading after I have an extra engagement or save the game for the following day.

In the campaign map, middle mouse button pauses the game and allows you to check your current mission and loadout

Officially:
10 dB is required to detect a contact.
>0 dB is required to maintain that contact.
