Default Cant get to captains cabin anymore...

Porpise Class...

Use to be able to get to the captins bunk / sonar shack by clicking on the door in the F2 view.

For some reason or another I can no longer do that :hmm:

Cant find a hotkey or button to get there either. Was it just a dream?

Oh btw I can still get to the conn tower.

Well, if it isn't just a flashback and you figure it out, please let me know. I'd love to see it.

For some reason the crew welded all the hatches shut, except the one to the conning tower. :hmm:

It's in SH III. Had the same 'flashback' how I've been sitting in a captain's cabin and could even see a sonar operator or sb on his watch... Desperatly looked for it in SH IV. A keyboard mod saying there were key bindings to get to the captain's cabin helped even more to caused this fallacy. Guess, why I ended up here? Still on my search for the captain's cabin in SH IV... but I fear to no avail, because there ain't any. It's definitely SH III.

Aykay-

The captain's cabin has been added by at least one mod- TMO. However, it was simply a clone of the SHIII u-boat cabin, and it wasn't useful in any way.

And welcome to subsim!

Might be, might be. Would you happen to have a Captain's Cabin in your pocket? Or at least some Grey Poupon?

I could swear I've seen at least one that broke the ten year mark.

You're right, it may have been in TMO 1.9 +. Although I wasn't playing TMO at the time I remember thinking what an interesting idea; make the Control Room much longer, then add bulkheads with wardrooms on both sides of the long hall. There weren't enough assets available to do it in the game though. In some of Vickers01 interiors you could still enter the door (pass through it with freecam) and see the dim glow of the interior, however it couldn't be finished with enough assets for the real CR interior to render as we are used to seeing it.

It seemed like an easy idea for a while, plans were drawn up, then the letdown because of the lighting issue.

Happy Hunting!

Fotrs Ultimate v0.63 has the Radio Room/Captains Quarters portrayed on all subs. Small differences between subs interiors such as wall hanging posters, metal or wood grain Captains room interior, charts on desks or bed etc. You either just "walk through" the closed "highlightable" hatch door into the Radio Room from the Command Room; click on the "highlightable" hatch door for entry/exit; or use the "\" key to go directly to the Radio Room.

And yes, as I was working on adding additional rooms to the SH4 Command Room model, (thanks to some very good models from SHIII modelers), the lighting effects were a problem when a room light down beyond several bulkheads could be seen through the walls! I haven't looked at it in years.
