Default Historical Missions won't launch now, they use to - FIX?

.

Hi

Loading my manually saved games work just fine no CTD occurring,
clean SH5 with only TWoS mod has run flawlessly

But Historical Missions, tried loading several they all CTD

From main menu click Historical Missions
I'm scrolling down to TDW Torpedo Tutorial
Take default options
Click Load
Seeing spinning loading clock, all appears fine
Expected BLACK screen for typical 10sec
Seeing consistent Crash to Desktop CTD, into win7

Any clue or web link on how to clear this would help

I've studied [TEC] Silent CTD Hunter, nothing here on Historical Mission CTD

Very strange. You mean ALL historical missions really, not just one ?

AFAIK the only difference from the scripted single missions and the save files for careers is: the game option file accessible from the main menu which is only for the single missions. If this is corrupt, then all missions would be concerned. But that's just an idea, I'm not sure.

Go in your folder
[YOUR DOCUMENTS FOLDER]\SH5\data\cfg

and take these files out of the cfg folder, do not delete them just take them out, and put them somewhere outside the SH5 folder:

GameplaySettings.cfg
main.cfg

Restart game, go in the options and make appropriate choices for grafics and gameplay settings. Now try to start an historical mission.
If it doesn't work, then my idea is the wrong one, replace the files above.

I hope this helps,
XS

I should ask

Do I need to be in the sub-pen docked to do this removal of the two files??

Currently I'm out on patrol British Costal water ...

Maybe it's OK to change gameplay setting in the cfg file and NOT be in the sub-pen docked.... Not sure, read some confusing things.

But which sub pen ?? The Historical missions are accessible from the main menu ! It has nothing to do with campaign play.
To remove the files above you must FIRST completly quit the game.

I've completely quit the game and remove the two files ( see above )

YIKES, still seeing Black screen for 10sec then CTD on Historical Mission startup.

I'm wondering if there's a Windows7 crash log I could get a clue from?

Any tip appreciated... struggling to get this fixed
The campaign part of SH5 TWoS still work CTD free, solid

Sorry that it didn't help you
Please replace the files you have removed as for my post above, they are not related to your problem.

Try removing all the files with the name xxxx_Draggables.TDW from your main SH5 game folder, they are safe to delete and will be re-created. Maybe this helps.

I hope someone else will soon come with better idea,
cheers
