they had some trouble translating the model in .obj hence the partly missing tower..

the stern

middle of sub

crane and bow

Bow

Thanks to Miner1436
we were offered a high resolution 3d model of the I-19 from Flagman Models at : http://flagman-models.com/catalogue.php?lang=EN

now analysing the model....

The hull looks nice with sunk in waterholes and sonar array details, very nice stern and bow tubes too, the tower didn't look any more detailed than mine though, less so I'd think, so the hull might be a go.

Stern not much difference there

I added my railing, cables and flag pole to the model, I folded the original crane in a stowed position, I had simply deleted it on my model.

I deactivated the ao map for now

A friend bought Dragons Age (?) but complained about the lousy 8-10 hours of gameplay for his 60$...
I on the other hand was so wise to pay the same amount for SH IV and you guys gives me 1000s of hours of gameplay!

Japanese subs are cool! One day my Silversides sig will change...

Btw. that microphone array looks familiar to the german GHG?

Default New Jyunsen B hull Flagman models

New Jyunsen B hull Flagman models

In S3D :

in game submerged :

surfaced :

new AO maps and textures

the model looks fine, textured and AOmapped ok in S3D but when ingame it's dark when surfaced, the wooden deck doesn't show and the hull is dark too...

maybe it's because of the high poly version of the hull ??? maybe SH4 can't handle it ??

my system "freaks" out a bit when running it.
Fog turns on and off in strange jumps and having other glitches, like if SH4 is skipping some frames...

Running it on a Core i7-930 w/6GB RAM and an ATI 5970, so further upgrade of HW is a bit... difficult...

Default Fighting the Kaichu

Third patrol on board a Kaichu

I am asked to leave Penang and intercept a Task Force in the IO before they reach Melbourne. Intercept northwest of Coco Island. I layed in the patch of the coming ships hoping to get close to the 2 Fidji Class Light Cruisers,

As per orders from the C and C : one torp for merchants and DDs, two for light cruisers and a full salvo for Aircraft Carriers.

I fired a salvo of two torpedoes at the first CL, hit fore of the middle :

I then fired the remaining two torpedoes at the next CL, but one at a time this time aiming just aft of the bow

and was rewarded by two hits ! but unlike the first she didn't sink right away...

she is listing heavily to starboard, one torp hit aft of the bow the other aft of the Bridge.

469 miles NW of Coco island, a third torpedo was her "coup de grace" , now going deep and silent

keltos reporting.
