I now that was in "Das boot" I think any of us subsimers has seen it
If I take a "Uboot lied" convert it and change it's name in intro.wav will work ???

TIA

Do you think to fix the problem for the ATI graphics ??

Yes, it will.

Putting in the stock "Weather.txt" is the only idea, by the moment. I'll try to check out some other way but I'm afraid it's a basic problem with ATI cards.

Thank you for your fast replay.

I'll try with the new file , and will overwrite the weather file with the old one but please try to find a solution for the ATI card.

Ciao from Italy

Due to some problems with ATI cards I've created some kind of hotfix. I don't know if it works, so please check out and reply.

The file you need is named "UKW!_ATI fix (alpatest)", it's a modified "Weather.txt"

Copy to "...Strategyfirst\1914 - Shells of Fury\Game". "Yes" to overwrite. (Don't forget backup!)

Download UKW!_ATI fix (alphatest): http://hosted.filefront.com/DerSchmutt
not available anymore

Same here, no luck with your new "hotfix" weather file and my ATI cards. Only the original 1914 SOF weather file works okay.

Ok, here's another one. This should run with your ATI and bring you little shaped off UKW weather conditions.
Sorry, I haven't anyone around using an ATI for testing, so please check out and reply again.
If it doesn't work I've got another one, but it will be strongly shaped off.

The file you need is named "UKW! ATI fix #2", and again, it's a modified "Weather.txt"

Copy to "...Strategyfirst\1914 - Shells of Fury\Game". "Yes" to overwrite. (Don't forget backup!)

Download UKW! ATI fix #2: http://hosted.filefront.com/DerSchmutt
not available anymore

@Panama Red:
With using the stock weather file you gave the hint to me , but it will cause some problems (sooner or later) due to UKW specific weather conditions scripted to mission scripts.
Thanks again!

Anyone the same experience with fix #2?

Here's fix #3.
NOTICE: RENAME THE FILE BEFORE INSTALL!!! FILENAME MUST READ "Weather.txt".
(Can't upload two files with identical names.)

Copy to "...Strategyfirst\1914 - Shells of Fury\Game". "Yes" to overwrite. (Don't forget backup!)

Download UKW! ATI fix #3: http://hosted.filefront.com/DerSchmutt
not available anymore

If all this doesn't work, use the SoF stock Weather.txt file.
CAUTION: You have to change the weather condition "heavysea" in ...Game\Scripts\ServerScript 3006, 3009, 3019,3032, 3042, 3047 into any other from the stock weather file (sun, sunrise, rainsun, i.e.).

Tried Hot Fix #3 and still no luck yet. I just wonder why your weather file does not work when the game playing fine with the original werather file ???

It sounds like I may have some problems in the future playing your UKW-SOF mod since your new scenarios are tied into your new weather file.

Bad news also from me Der Schmutt.
Installed both fix the last is even worser than the second, all black; in the second I could see the clouds.

Ciao

Hello,
i remember having the dark sky problem with my vanilla version of SoF back then, as well i remember the sim was quite resource-hungry for its price and appearance (my ATI 9600 was definitely suffering). I canot remember what i changed to get the graphics display right, but it finally worked.

Only to mention this might not be mod related - try a vanilla install first and change the graphic settings until that works ...

Greetings,
Catfish

@Catfish:
Thank you!

All fixes are not available anymore!

Guys, I believe the black sky and sea problem could not be solved with a fix.
U-Boote Kurs West! has been downloaded for about 250 times and there are only very few (5) having this graphics problem.
Try out changing graphics settings, as I wrote before, with some ATI's you have to use a tool (tweaker) for setting Pixel Shader Overrun to 2.0.

Greets

EDIT:
I'm checkin' out someone near using a newer ATI for take a look at it by myself.
This may will take a little while.
Meanwhile, try changing your settings, please.
